Be SunSmart this spring
Spring has sprung, and with it comes warmer days and an increased need to protect our skin.
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation can be high even on overcast days. So we’re reminding all early childhood services and schools to be alert to this.
This might be a good time to review your sun protection policy and ensure it is being followed.
UV damage in childhood increases skin cancer risk. So keeping children safe from sun is particularly important.
There are a number of ways to stay informed about the UV index. These include the SunSmart app, Bureau of Meteorology and MyUV. This index tells you when sun protection is recommended on a particular day.
For more information about sun safety see the Cancer Council website.
