COVID-19 Update – Arrangements for Monday 23 November

Public schools and preschools will be open to all students from Monday 23 November, except for Mawson Lakes School and preschool, and Roma Mitchell Secondary College.

Online learning will only be required for students that are required to self-isolate.

Access to school and preschool grounds

Leaders should minimise parents, volunteers, and non-urgent service providers entering the site.

Pre-service teachers and TAFE students are considered essential and can continue placements.

Assemblies, ceremonies and special events

Assemblies and ceremonies can continue, provided that they comply with state directions and physical distancing.

Transition visits for reception and year 7 students can continue as normal. Schools must keep a record of the students that attend their sites for these visits (for contact tracing purposes).

Parent attendance should be minimised where possible.

SAPSASA and interschool sporting events and carnivals should be cancelled.

Sport and physical education confined to the schools own site can continue.

Swimming and aquatics lessons can continue on school grounds, at lakes and beaches and public pools (providing they are open).

While not mandatory, it is recommended that all staff wear masks when travelling to and from work.

Staff and students are not required to wear masks within the school grounds. However, staff can choose to wear them if they wish.

Visit SA Health’s website for details on how to wear a mask.

Support Services

Student Support Services will continue to provide services to children's centres, preschools and schools. On Monday, student support services staff will check in with each site prior to visiting. If you have any concerns with staff visits over the remainder of the term, please contact your local student support services team.

The social work duty line continues to be available to you to support any issues with attendance as well as general wellbeing concerns for children and students on 1300 620 673.

SACE stage 1

The existing SACE extension for 1 week will continue.
