COVID-19 update: End-of-year events and cross-border travel
We received this information from the Department for Eduction on 26 August 2020.
End-of-year events such as graduation ceremonies, presentation nights, formals, concerts, and Christmas events are important dates on our school and preschool calendars.
These events can go ahead providing government health advice (physical distancing, room density and hygiene) is strictly followed.
Please note that circumstances regarding the presence of COVID-19 within South Australia can change. Planned events may be subject to sudden change or cancellation in accordance with the latest public health advice.
Please see Advice to schools and preschools: end-of-year events in 2020 for more detailed information
From 12.01 am Friday 28 August, restrictions along the border of South Australia and Victoria will be eased and the 40km buffer zone for cross border communities will be reinstated.
Department for Education employees and students residing in Victoria (within the 40 km zone) will be able to travel into South Australia to go to work, school or preschool under their essential traveller status.
School buses will operate as usual from Friday morning.
If you had cross-border community member essential traveller status prior to 12.01 Friday 21 August 2020 (which is the original paper based document) or you received a revocation notice, you will need to re-apply. Otherwise your status has been reinstated.
People aged 16 years and over will still be required to have a COVID-19 test every seven days. Evidence of a COVID-19 test, or a COVID-19 test result must be provided to an authorised officer (on request) relating to a test completed in the previous 7 days. It will then be necessary to keep being tested every seven days until further notice.
We look forward to seeing all of our students and staff back at school and preschool on Friday!
