First-aid training during pandemic

4 May 2020

In light of COVID-19 restrictions, the Australian Skills Quality Authority provided advice to first-aid training providers.

This includes changing how they train, the order of units, and delaying workplace practical assessments.

While some first-aid training can be completed online, practical parts—such as CPR on a manikin—are more challenging.

Education and care service providers and educators should discuss options offered by training providers. They should try to complete first-aid refresher training. This may mean completing only the theory parts, if necessary.

We will consider waivers relating for refresher training. This is particularly so for applicants who can show they sought training and/or completed the theory parts.
