Autism Inclusion Charter
Earlier this month, South Australia took a significant step forward in promoting inclusivity and support for individuals with autism with the launch of the Autism Inclusion Charter. The Charter, spearheaded by the Office for Autism, aims to foster meaningful cultural change and guide government policies to better serve people who have autism.
On 3 April 2024, the ESB demonstrated its commitment to inclusion by participating in the launch event. The ESB's Chief Executive, Kerry Leaver, along with the Director, Regulatory Practice and Operations, Sean Heffernan, attended the event and received training that aligns with the principles outlined in the Charter.
The ESB recognises the importance of creating an inclusive environment not only externally but also within the agency. The ESB envisages a future where the agency reflects the values of inclusivity, where our staff is equipped with the necessary training to support individuals with autism effectively.
To achieve this vision, ESB is committed to implementing inclusivity training for staff to empower them to better understand and cater to the needs of individuals with autism, both within the agency and when interacting with the broader community.
