Complaint about a school
If a complaint is about child-protection, abuse or neglect you must make a notification to the 24-hour Child Abuse Report Line on 13 14 78, or create a notification online.
- The Education Standards Board (ESB) recommends that in the first instance, complainants endeavour to resolve issues at the school level
- It is also recommended that you request related school policies and procedures, including complaints and grievances documents (often available on the school’s website)
- If your complaint relates to the conduct of a teacher, please contact the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
If your complaint relates to allegations of unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment or victimisation, please contact the Equal Opportunity Commissioner.
