School success spotlight: Nazareth Catholic College
A key responsibility of the Education Standards Board is to assess applications to establish new schools and campuses, which fulfils our vision to ensure access to high-quality education and early childhood services.
The Board recently conducted a review of registration of Nazareth Catholic College in accordance with section 54 (1) of the Education and Early Childhood Services (Registration and Standards) Act and Regulations 2011.
Nazareth recently expanded its presence on Kaurna land, in Adelaide’s western suburbs, with its third campus.
Manager Schools Registration Services at the Board Noel Browne said: “with a new school or campus, the Board needs to ensure that the grounds, buildings and infrastructure are compliant with the criteria within the Standards for Registration and Review of Registration in SA”.
As Term 3 of 2023 commenced, 227 year 11 students were the first to mark a defining moment in history as they stepped into a new era with the opening of the Kidman Park Campus for seniors.
The impressive purpose-built campus provides an environment for teaching and learning that is connected and contemporary.
Student hubs, innovation and collaboration spaces, performing arts and music suites complete with recording studio and concert band rooms, a double court gymnasium and fitness performance room, an engineering, design and technology wing, state of the art food and hospitality kitchens are just some of the state-of-the-art facilities students have access to.
“While ‘high-quality education’ is predominantly a result of high-quality teaching and strong relationships, it is facilitated best in physical spaces – like Nazareth – that are inclusive of students’ needs, globally connected, provide experiences with contemporary technologies, and are aesthetic in relation to our senses,” Noel said.
Nazareth’s Principal Andrew Baker said the college provides a safe, hope-filled and encouraging environment based on respect, positive relationships, justice, care and compassion.
“In such an environment, our students thrive and flourish. It is our mission to help each young person in our care seek their passions and follow them,” Andrew said.
